Reality is a B*tch
Jazz Shaw:
Once states start drinking this particular Koolaid it's hard to kick the habit. But unless we're just going to throw out the science books entirely, it's at least worth the effort to try. Personally, I don't care what any adult wants to call themselves, but at least for purposes of law enforcement, we should have accurate public records, particularly when it comes to identification documents. Until someone can come up with a verifiable medical test to tell us if someone is transgender without asking them or to identify more than two, binary genders, this is all smoke and mirrors. And sooner or later we're going to run into serious reasons to regret it.

What if everyone selects that option?
John Sexton:
It's all a bit vague but I'd say this sounds like an endorsement of European social democracy. The problem, of course, is that that's not what the most popular socialist on the scene is promoting. As Jazz noted earlier today, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seems to be envisioning a future in which work is optional. I’m not sure what that is but it's somewhere to the left of communism. Under communism, you were expected to work for your government check, even if the work was sweeping dust from one side of the street to the other and back again.Of course, the answer is that the no-work option would only be available to certain favored individuals and groups chosen by people like Ocasio-Cortez in the regime. The rest of us would be forced to provide for them.

Dumb as a Rock
Jazz Shaw:
Who's cooking up these plans? Oh, that's right. It's AOC and her allies. Not for nothing, but wasn't she a bartender a few months ago? And now she's developing our energy policy? But she knows she's morally right.
