It's the (lack of) storage, stupid!
John Hinderaker:
The idea that batteries will somehow make intermittent energy sources like wind and solar reliable is fanciful. There is, however, a newish technology close at hand that could solve any problems relating to power generation without–unlike wind and solar–emitting CO2, if you think that is important. That technology is nuclear energy. For an extended discussion of how nuclear energy can save countless billions or trillions of dollars, see this report.
The Un-Americans
John Hinderaker:
Now, while no doubt there are honorable exceptions, liberals are usually anti-American. They have been taught a twisted, Zinnified version of American history, and they have internalized a Chomskyite view of the world in which all evils are traceable to American misdeeds. Liberals tend to be angry, unhappy people, and it is convenient for them to blame their problems on their country's supposed failings. Organizations like Chick-fil-A that are pro-America, pro-religion (Chick-fil-A restaurants are closed on Sunday), and culturally upbeat are anathema.
Ingrates
Glenn Reynolds on the hammer attack carried out by Somalis in Minnesota:
"Males." They were Somali teens, showing their gratitude to the nation that gave them refuge.
Get the Data!
John Hinderaker:
Another area where I would like to see DNA testing applied is chain migration. Millions of immigrants have been brought to this country on the ground that they are related to immigrants who are already here. To my knowledge, no serious effort is made to ensure that those who benefit from chain migration are actual blood relatives. I am only speculating, but I would be surprised if there is not considerable fraud in that program as well.
Mobs
Glenn Reynolds:
The woke mob, like all mobs, is vicious and stupid. And people join in such mobs so that they can let their own viciousness and stupidity flow freely without responsibility or guilt.
Nice
Stephen Green:
Russian air defense reminds me a bit of the old Soviet navy, whose job was to try to sink an American aircraft carrier or two shortly before ceasing to exist.
