Hit and Run
The Weekly Standard's Bill Kristol reacts to John Kerry's and John Edward's apparent need to mention Vice President Cheney's daughter, Mary, during the debates, and the aftermath. Posts from Hugh Hewitt on this topic can be found here, here, and here. The guys at Powerline provide additional coverage and analysis here. Apparently, Senators Kerry and Edwards both thought it was necessary to mention a gay person by name in order to personalize their responses to questions about gay marriage at the debates. Do they not know another gay person? Is Mary Cheney the only gay person they know by name, or was it just a calculated tactic? I believe it was the latter and that is simply pathetic.
