Commie Day!

Check out Scott Johnson's post at Power Line about the rally at the University of Minnesota organized by Socialist Alternative and attended by metro area high school students. James Walsh of the Star Tribune reported on the demonstration, especially the high school student aspect of the story, here. The key sentence:

Organized by Youth Against War and Racism and the larger Socialist Alternative, the rally began at Coffman before weaving through campus and stopping traffic along several blocks of Washington Avenue before ending up in front of the Army and Navy recruiting offices on Washington at Oak Street.

The followup piece by Katherine Kersten that Mr. Johnson discusses ("Students should take another look at antiwar rally") can be found here. Ms. Kersten's reporting puts the spotlight on the organizers of a rally such as this, which is where it should be from the moment these events are announced.

If you follow the above link to the Socialist Alternative website, you will find this gem:

We believe the dictatorships that existed in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe were perversions of what socialism is really about.

Yeah, give them another chance. They promise to not kill so many people this time.

Then there's this:

We are for democratic socialism where people will have control over their daily lives.

Just like the DPRK!

Also, don't miss their Venezuela revolution and counter revolution link.
