The Democrats' Response
From Hugh Hewitt's post about tonight's State of the Union Address:
And from Mary Katharine Ham:
Yeah, I'm annoyed about the lack of Social Security reform. So I was a bit upset when Democrats applauded themselves for obstructing it.
The Democrats were enthusiastic and on their feet alone only over the president’s acknowledgement of their successful obstruction of Social Security reform. It was a very interesting moment: They celebrated the failure to fix a growing problem. It was a revealing moment.
And from Mary Katharine Ham:
Ok, Bush's line about two of his dad's favorite people turning 60 this year-- him and President Clinton. That was funny, bipartisan, and sweet, and Hillary couldn't even spare a smile. She is so very unlikeable.
She can, however, spare a smile and standing O for doing absolutely nothing to address the Social Security problem. There's the Democratic Party in a nutshell, huh? "Today's Democratic Party-- You Got Problems? We Got Nuthin', and We'll Applaud the Heck Out of Ourselves For It."
Yeah, I'm annoyed about the lack of Social Security reform. So I was a bit upset when Democrats applauded themselves for obstructing it.
