Announcing the End of an Era
Hindrocket and Abigail post about Mark Dayton's decision not to seek a second term in the U.S. Senate. I have mixed emotions about this announcement. Of course, I'm thrilled that the senator will no longer represent my state. However, I don't think the Democrats will find a candidate worse than, or even as bad as, Mr. Dayton, so that's kind of disappointing. Also, the senator's antics will be missed for their entertainment value. I will view Mr. Dayton's tenure in the Senate as an interesting, yet botched*, experiment in representative government conducted by the people of Minnesota. Yeah, let's never do that again.
I leave it to Abigail to come up with a replacement for Dayton in the 2006 part of the four year plan.
* "Horribly flawed" works here too.
