Announcing the End of an Era

Hindrocket and Abigail post about Mark Dayton's decision not to seek a second term in the U.S. Senate. I have mixed emotions about this announcement. Of course, I'm thrilled that the senator will no longer represent my state. However, I don't think the Democrats will find a candidate worse than, or even as bad as, Mr. Dayton, so that's kind of disappointing. Also, the senator's antics will be missed for their entertainment value. I will view Mr. Dayton's tenure in the Senate as an interesting, yet botched*, experiment in representative government conducted by the people of Minnesota. Yeah, let's never do that again.

I leave it to Abigail to come up with a replacement for Dayton in the 2006 part of the four year plan.

* "Horribly flawed" works here too.

Comments:
Yeah, let's never do that again.I agree. Now convince the rest of Minnesota.

Too bad Al Franken bowed out. With Dayton gone and hockey on strike, what are you guys going to do for comic relief during thse long winter months?
